Even if our [interpretation] differs from yours,

Please don’t blame it on our shrine.

If you’re obviously not asking for it in the right way, then none of your wishes will be granted.

For our followers, if what you truly desire is [reliance on others],

Then perhaps you’re more fit to devote yourselves to [Buddhism]...

Let’s be real…as long as I’m the shrine maiden,

There’ll be no shortage of people who have their lives toyed with.

But there’s no guarantee that your wishes can be granted by [reliance on yourself].

I am confident in my lack of ability to relieve myself of all [worldly troubles],

So I don’t think I can achieve [nirvana] in this horizon.

I guess I have no choice but to [keep going around]...
